Re: NABU at Pacific Northwest Commodore Expo

Great! Attendance was about 41 Saturday total and then repeats on Sunday with about 10 new faces. I did a pretty rambly presentation on the NABU which may show up on Youtube at some point I'm told. But this morning, I saw this: https://www.vice.com/en/article/ak3k34/2200-forgotten-vintage-computers-...

NABU at SEA-CCC

The "Travelling NABU" made an appearance at the Seattle Commodore Computer Club last night. (May I crash your party?). And had a seat of royalty next to the fabled MEGA-65. Rumor had it that there was an Atari 130XE relegated to an annex room, but did get some attention until it was announ...

Re: Invaders Progress

Great job! I played it through a few stages and had fun. I noticed the tank can go all the way to each end side of the screen. In the original you can just get past the left and right bases. Maybe that was to just make the game harder? kudos to cpmdrive again for making it a breeze to appear on the ...

Re: Invaders Progress

I just confirmed the four notes are: Bb, Ab, G, F. They're short thumps, but they're essentially part of the Bb major scale repeating and not changing.
But here is where it gets weird: When the game is first started, the first note is Ab then G, F then back up to Bb repeating from there.

Re: Invaders Progress

From what I recall, the pace actually increased when the enemies are killed because there’s less sprites to draw. So the less enemies meant less cpu and therefore faster speed. This sounds like a happy side effect, so why doesn't dave's invader code behave in the same manner? Is it may locking itse...

Re: Invaders Progress

Wow, great beta test. Space Invaders is one of my favs. Some comments but you probably already know. * the marching theme is four descending notes, yours is two and surprisingly musical :) * last invader continues the march rather than run. * nice that you have auto fire when holding the button! * a...

Re: How many more will there be?

Or the tunnels of moose jaw! Sounds like a concept and title for another excellent GAME MAN YEAH series. The object is to return all the NABUs to Canada from Millbury Massachusetts through the tunnels of moose jaw while not being subject to GST nor surcharged by Royal Mail Canada. But becareful wha...

Re: How many more will there be?

If BC cannucks can go South to Seattle maybe a pallet of NABUs can be made available so you can hoark one from the back of my brother's van eh? (he's genius, he hooked up our stereo) They can at least have their fan issues taken care of. But folk in the frontier days of BC didn't know about NABU or ...
