Re: Unreliable booting with F18A

Yeah, I gave the socket a good Deoxit bath and that didn't do anything, so I am going to start by going through the usual - reflowing joints, verifying proper contact, checking the dip switch bank is working properly, checking the voltages, looking for dodgy caps etc. I don't have another NABU to ch...

Unreliable booting with F18A

Hi Does anyone have issues with an F18A video board (ie plug-in replacement for the TMS 9918A VDC) working reliably? I got my Nabu about 3 weeks ago and everything worked fine, but I wanted to use CP/M in 80 column mode, so I ordered an F18A Mk1, ie the chip-sized version of the original design from...

Re: recommended joystick

I have a couple of Hyperkin Trooper joysticks, and they are pretty decent, and a step up from the No-name Atari 2600-style joysticks you normally get on Amazon. It’s also available there. If you want more of an arcade feel, then building your own is the way to go. The fairly cheap Chinese arcade but...

Greetings from North Carolina

Hi, I just signed up after my NABU arrived on my front porch yesterday. It is now up and running, and has resulted in a my TI99/4A being demoted to wardrobe to make space for it on my desk. I'm currently trying to improve the "not good" picture quality I get from it and identify how much o...
