Using the Keyboard Emulator

Post by DJ Sures »

Don't have a NABU keyboard? Don't worry about it! You'll have to use a PC of some sort for the Internet Adapter anyway, so you might as well use the PC keyboard. And while we're at it, let's use the PC joysticks... oh yeah! You only need a second DTech RS422 adapter and two wires connected to a 6-pin DIN. SRC for people to put their name on my work (no hex editor necessary *wink*) can be found here: https://github.com/DJSures/NABU-Keyboard-Emulator

Download v0.2b (April 8, 2023)
The program can be downloaded here: http://cloud.nabu.ca/NABU%20Keyboard%20Emulator.zip

I just ordered the stuff to make the gizmo, this is fantastic. I'm actually really happy I can just use a game pad I have lying around instead of looking for an old Atari or similar joystick.

Noice. Using a newer game pad was actually easier. I was surprised because I figured I’d miss the nostalgia of an original controller.

It's funny how much we actually don't miss using those old joysticks. I guess D pads are old enough to "feel right"?

Dumb question here.

I am currently using a pc usb keyboard with the pc and a nabu keyboard for the nabu - works great, but, I dont want to have two keyboards, this wouldn;'t fix that problem would it? I'd still need two keyboards, if I am understanding this correctly.

Is it plug the pc keyboard and serial adapter into pc and plug pigtail (lack of a better term) into nabu keyboard connector? If so, this is great, plus the joysticks, it's really great. Ty
