Scamming the Retro and NABU community

It has come to my attention that there has been some scanning activity in the NABU community. A burst of activity around SeanRox, otherwise known as Geek with Social Skills.

I personally have not been ripped off, but a whole lot of people in the Retro community, not just NABU, have started to speak up.

So read/watch this stuff. I'm sure there will be a movie made about this someday:

Then, a big kerfuffle occurred in the public NABU discord, where Ron from Ron's Computer Videos got muted, others got banned and reported, and after a couple of days, SeanRox was banned from the NABU public discord.

Then the videos started:

Hi all, I can confirm that he has scammed me personally out of just over $6300.00 and I have pending legal action against Sean. I can also confirm there are many many others who he has also taken advantage of. Check out the linked videos above they are a few stories from others who have been scammed with more being posted what seems like every few days now.

I was always uneasy with Sean. He would often reach out to me regarding my nabu games. I'd try to be polite but pushed back hard when he dared to suggest that dark yellow is not an appropriate border colour.

For everyone else actually scammed, I'm terribly sorry that's happened to you. I hope y'all can recover and take some solace in the fact that word is spreading.

It's interesting how quickly the nabu discord jumped to defend someone who is objectively scamming people.

The argument they gave that it doesn't matter what was happening in other retro communities as long as it wasn't happening on the nabu community was abhorrent to me.

That attitude is the antithesis of the meaning behind "community".
