Pi Inside
Has anyone tried to use a RS-422 hat for a Pi and run an Internet Adapter on there? Thinking it could be installed inside and be mostly standalone then.
Even cooler, a Pi Zero W, if one could get 422 or Ethernet on there, park that inside and the NABU goes wireless.

Re: Pi Inside
With an external antenna you could. It makes a good faraday cage

No, but I thought the standard USB to 422 would work for that purpose, and just mount it right inside the NPC case.
Re: Pi Inside
if you don't need to access the internet for software updates it would work. I use this on my game room /portable setup:LeoBinkowski wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 10:38 pm No, but I thought the standard USB to 422 would work for that purpose, and just mount it right inside the NPC case.

Re: Pi Inside
I don't see this as a major issue, I was thinking of putting it in a zippy box attached to one the filler plates on the back of the machine anyway so I could access the SD card in needed.
Most admin on the Pi could be done with easy remotely.

Good spot to put it. I’m sure this will sit on my todo list for a bit, have an RC2014 I’m trying to get working again. Want to see a telnet session from the NABU to the 2014.intangybles wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 2:19 amI don't see this as a major issue, I was thinking of putting it in a zippy box attached to one the filler plates on the back of the machine anyway so I could access the SD card in needed.

Re: Pi Inside
I have a Pi and Network Adapter question, I found my spare Pi's, I was looking for my 3b+ (its in the 4b box) and also found an older Pi I forgot I had, its either a 1B or 2A I can't recall. Would that be sufficient to run the software?

Yup. It’ll run on pretty much anything. Doesn’t really do a lot. Not cpu intensive at all
