I thought it might be because I had installed the drivers that came with 1.9.9beta (which I started with) and also the ones with 1.9.8.10 but it looks like it may be a common problem.

I find that it requires unplugging and reconnecting a couple of times before the device is ...

Good to hear that 1.9.8.11 Education also works - 1.9.9Beta definitely didn't work for me!

Add Sony Bravia TVs to the list of devices that *don't* work with HDMI.

So top tips for others planning to build the Tang Nano 9K based solution:

1. You _must_ use version 1.9.8.10 of the Gowin IDE and programmer - not an earlier ...

Ok, so I made a little bit of progress. I had downloaded the latest version of the IDE/programmer, Gowin V1.9.9Beta.

Having downgraded to 1.9.8.10, the synthesis and placement now both work fine. I can also download the bitstream to the TN9K:

It looks like I've managed to program my shiny new TN9K:

However, when I try to (re)synthesize the project files I get the following error:

ERROR (IF0008) : The number(131072) of DFF used to infer "ram ...
