Article on NABU at VICE Motherboard
The article written by Ernie has been published at VICE Motherboard! It's a great summary of the activity with NABU for the last few months:

I laughed out loud at this one and its reply:
Re: Article on NABU at VICE Motherboard
I looked at some of the comments. I think IQ levels have dropped recently. Somebody thinks $59 is too much?
Even if this guy works at McDonalds (...possibly he does), I'm sure he could still afford $59.$59 is even too much to scavenge parts from them. That video was made over 7 months ago so I'm going to assume this article is an advertisement trying to offload these things.
Yes, it's all a big scam - a huge conspiracy by those "vintage computer fatcats" trying to rip off the poor.

Took me a lot not to reply to that comment re: selling units. If only they knew how long it took me to get James on the line! LOL.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for giving me a chance to talk about this community. This has been one of my favorite stories ever. Please keep in touch, and I’ll keep an eye out for any additional barns full of additional units.

Funny, AOL was originally Q-Link, built around proprietary hardware - Commodore 64, IIRC! I know, not the same. Interesting article, glad I got one. Still unboxed but will get to it soon enough. And on top of all that, NABU—an acronym standing for Natural Access to Bi-directional Utilities—was essentially the 1983 version of AOL, except built around proprietary hardware.

Ernie, I just want to publicly thank you for that article. I turned out much better that I imagined, and a lot of what you wrote about the ebay vendor I didn't know whatsoever, so it was a real treat for me.ernie wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:16 am

I put it up on facebook and linkedin and had an enthusiastic response to it. You published that story at a good time; it appears to have grown many legs from your original:

MSN and PC GAMER!

So I'm pretty happy to see all the attention for NABU. This is turning out to be the Year of the NABU, and in no small part to your wonderfully written article about the whole thing.
Thanks again!
Leo
