NABU BASIC Manual?

Post by dantaipan »

Doesn't seem to be a forum that makes sense for this question. This is the closest thing. Was there ever a NABU BASIC manual that outlines any NABU-specific syntax or was it only ever captured in those errr... fun tutorials?

There was, but I don't have a copy of it. NABU Basic wasn't something I worked on.

The only known copy is in the collection of York University.

It was given to them by a forum member. Unfortunately, it seems like they just squirreled it away, so unless another one turns up, its contents are a mystery.

There is, at least, a scan of the LOGO manual floating around.

That is unfortunate. Didn’t look at Logo yet. Was not familiar with that before Nabu. Looks like primary use was drawing vectors.

NABU Logo is rather impressive. It has a full-screen editor, combined text and graphics modes, modular package management, etc. Logo is a Lisp dialect and should get more credit, but it was mostly associated with toy programming for kids.

That version of Logo was compiled by MIT, without ever seeing a NABU PC. That was impressive.

NABU BASIC is apparently the same as Nevada BASIC?

EDIT - not sure why the link is being censored, it’s Nabu network dot com.
