The whites of the eyes on the ghosts in PAC-MAN work like this. I also keep track if they cross, which is an edge case.

Well -
I have the aliens moving over and down.
I have the shields positioned and ready to be bombed.
and that's about it.
Doing this in assembly - just for kicks.
