NABU PSU 110V - 220V

Post by Mark_G »

My Nabu arrived recently, but I live in Europe. More precisely in Flanders.
As you probably know, we have a voltage of 220 V.

Instead of replacing the internal PSU, I want to use an external voltage converter from 220V to 110V.
I want to use the computer as original as possible. For me, the modifications need to be reversible.

I therefore wish to buy an external voltage converter.
But I don't know which brand is the best, and I don't know the required specs for this device.
Because of this, can someone tell me the maximum power in continuous operation of the PSU ? Or the minimum required power of the converter?

If someone already bought an external converter, can he report his findings?

HI there,

I do not know which converter to use, but I also live on Europe (Germany) and bought a NABU. Instead of using a converter, I just bought a generic power supply and swapped the internal power supply with a 220V one. I followed the NABU How to guide in this forum: viewtopic.php?t=67

I hope this helps.

At the moment, the NABU is stored.
I ordered the F18A Mk1 board, but shipping from the US to Europe is not always as smooth as desired.
The board came to the distribution centre in my neighbourhood, but they failed to contact me, and send everything back to the US.

However, I shall use an external converter from 230 V <=> 110 V
Probably, it shall be "220V to 110V Step Up & Step Down Voltage Converter 500W" (Yinleader) from Amazon.

I don't feel the need to modify the main system for a new PSU.
With the NABU, I want to use CP/M and play some MSX games. ;)

This weekend, I do a second try to order the F18A Mk1 and some other goodies.

Most of the converters only convert the voltage not the Hz.
I saw that the fan can run on 50 Hz but i don't now the cpu.
